To Whom It May Concern:

 On the 28^th of April of 2002, our lives were completely torn apart after my daughter Ana Maria Angel and her boyfriend Nelson Portobanco suffered a terrible assault in which they were kidnapped, robbed and Ana Maria raped and murdered. 

Nelson was left for dead after receiving numerous punches and stabs. He was stabbed in his back, throat and face. Fortunately, he survived.

Those five individuals who committed these heinous acts are detained awaiting trial. After four long years of delays and legal maneuvers, they have assigned to us Judge William Thomas to oversee the process. To our surprise, his attitude and decisions have demonstrated to us that he’s a judge who is still acting as a former defense attorney. He lacks the necessary experience in criminal cases, especially since he is a new judge and has been working much of his life defending criminals. This is why we deem him to be incompetent. We have decided to express these thoughts publicly in the hopes of protecting future victims of rape or murder.

We believe the interpretation of law in the hands of liberal judges, such as Thomas, leads to such perpetrators of crimes to be set free and to continue to commit more of their atrocities.

The evidence, which has been discarded or tossed out by Judge Thomas, is very important to prove these individuals are guilty.

It is very possible that as a result of Thomas’s decisions these individuals could easily end up in the streets again.

By setting them free, we are facing the likelihood that these individuals will once again terrorize the lives of everyone in our society.

Thomas’s attitude does not set us at ease and he is not fit to judge these assassins.

These individuals are very dangerous. Even after they were arrested and jailed, they were plotting to kill Nelson Portobanco by hiring a hit man to finish the job.

We hereby kindly ask you to support us with your valuable signature asking that Judge Thomas be removed as judge in this trial. This will enable us to confirm the punishment these individuals deserve, which should be to the fullest extent of the law.

We appreciate your immense support right after this tragedy, and especially now that we must again request your support in pursuing justice in order to ensure the future of our children’s lives.
